Employment Training

The Heritage Industries Training Center provides paid work opportunities in a structured environment that allows the individual to gain marketable skills and realize employers’ expectations. Employees may participate in a variety of work opportunities designed to help them identify their personal vocational goals, then work with staff to develop Individualized Career Plans aimed at achieving those goals.

Skill-building programs offered include:

  • Educational Job Groups to discuss various work skills necessary for competitive employment. Topics of discussion include: Attendance and Punctuality, Socialization Skills, Appropriate Work Place Socialization, Work Safety, Interview Skills
  • Work Tours to local businesses/employers
  • Volunteer/Internship opportunities to build upon skills

Specialized services are available for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, or for people who may require additional supports.

Northeast Arc’s Employment Training is funded through the Department of Development Services (DDS), the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), the Mass Commission for the Blind (MCB), public and private school systems and private pay.
