About Heritage

Heritage Industries, a division of the Northeast Arc, has been providing vocational training and opportunities for people with disabilities since 1958. Located on the north shore of Greater Boston, Heritage Industries provides an array of services to both the person supported and to over 300 businesses in the area.

Our employment services provide opportunities for people with disabilities to learn valuable workplace skills through a variety of programs. Supports include individualized job development and coaching, staff-supported community employment opportunities, and a large training center where people develop their skills while performing work for local companies. Additional supports include job readiness classes and groups, assistance with resume design and interviewing skills. Heritage also operates several small businesses where people supported may apply for jobs, including Heritage Shredding, Heritage Caning Company and Shine Jewelry.

Heritage Industries works with over 20 different school systems in the area to provide supports for students with disabilities who are preparing to enter the workforce. Tools include Vocational Assessments, Employment Readiness Classes and individualized supports that build upon existing skills. We’re also providing educational and employment guidance by partnering with local colleges on CCAP and Project Search. CCAP—the College and Career Access Project— is an educational and employment pathway program offered in conjunction with North Shore Community College and Montserrat College of Arts. Project Search is hosted by Salem State University and involves educational classroom work and internships for students.

For businesses, we are an alternative for companies that want excellent work done at competitive prices. Heritage Industries provides subcontracting services to companies throughout northeastern Massachusetts, many of them among the region’s largest firms.
